Orrville Elementary School students had a special opportunity today thanks to the generosity and community-minded support of the Quota Club of Wayne County and local partners.
Through its Bicycle Safety Program, the Quota Club provided students with bicycle helmets and coloring books as part of its ongoing commitment to community and youth outreach. The program helps teach children the importance of wearing a helmet and making safe choices while riding bikes, scooters, and other outdoor equipment.
Several community partners made the event possible through their support. The Romich Foundation Makerspace provided bags, and volunteers from Quota and the Orrville community helped distribute them. Orrville Police Department Detective Shane was also part of the safety effort, helping reinforce the importance of bicycle safety with students.
Quota’s mission extends beyond bicycle safety. The organization provides service and support to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, assists those with speech-related needs, and helps people in need throughout Wayne County. The Bicycle Helmet Safety Program is one example of Quota’s broader commitment to serving children, families, and the community.
Orrville City Schools is grateful to the Quota Club of Wayne County, the Romich Foundation Makerspace, the Orrville Police Department, and all volunteers who helped make today’s helmet distribution possible.
Thank you for helping keep our young Red Riders safe!
