Ignite

Orrville High School’s Ignite Peer Mentoring Program met for the final time this school year, focusing on an important topic: building community connections.

During the session, students reflected on the many connections they already have in their lives, including school, peer, personal, and professional relationships. The activity helped students recognize that support systems often exist all around them, including teachers, coaches, classmates, family members, employers, community groups, and local organizations.

After identifying those connections, students worked in groups to build “connection towers” using notecards. Each card represented a person, group, or organization that helps support students. Just as strong community connections support our young people, those same connections also supported the towers students built.

The tallest tower reached an impressive 53 inches, serving as a remarkable visual reminder that when students are surrounded by positive relationships and community support, they can continue to grow, lead, and succeed.

OHS is proud of the work our Ignite students have done this year to strengthen relationships, build leadership skills, and contribute to a positive school culture. We are grateful for the many community connections that continue to support our Red Riders.
