Fourth grader Eden Citizen of the Month

Eden Foy, a Fourth Grade student at Orrville Elementary, was selected as Citizen of the Month. She is the daughter of Shane and Carrie. Eden is being recognized under Mayor Plybon’s Good Citizen program to acknowledge that good character at school also makes a good citizen for the City of Orrville.

Mayor Plybon and Orrville Police Department Chief Seiler recognized Eden in her classroom with OES Principal Mrs. Millsaps, Assistant Principal Miss Swejk, and her teachers, Mrs. Mason, Mrs. Bukovitz and Mrs. Shumney, on January 30, 2024.

Mayor Plybon expressed admiration for Eden’s good character and thanked her for being a good Orrville citizen. He presented Eden with a special certificate as his classmates clapped to congratulate her.

An Orrville Elementary Citizen of the Month sign was also given to Eden and her parents to be placed in their yard. It was a great day for Eden!

Eden’s teachers, Mrs. Mason, Mrs. Bukovitz and Mrs. Shumney, nominated her by saying, “Eden is a wonderful example of a character kid. She shows responsibility by always having her classwork and homework completed. She is committed to helping her classmates and teachers with whatever is needed. She is always up for a challenge and pushes herself to be successful. She cheers others on and is a friend to everyone!
Eden is a responsible student.  She is always willing to help the teacher or other students.  She is kind and compassionate towards all.  Eden always has a positive outlook and a smile on her face.
Eden is a kind and compassionate student that goes out of her way to make everyone around her feel good. She is hardworking, honest, and thoughtful. She works well with her classmates and is always respectful to her teachers. Last year when I was sick, she brought me a goodie bag with a can of chicken noodle soup, tissues, and a get well soon card. It made my day that she thought of me and wanted to help. She is such a special kid with a good heart!”
