OAA Results

Students results for the 2013-2014 Ohio Achievement Test (just completed grades 3-8) are now available to pick up at the board of education office from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.   Please bring proof of identification.

SUMMER READING

All students entering Grades 7 and 8 must read ONE novel and complete a writing assignment. Click here for the list of books and reader response questions.  DUE AUGUST 29, 2014!

7th/8th Grade Football

Any 7/8th grade boy interested in playing football is invited to a skills camp Wed-Thurs, July 30-31 from 5-7 pm.  Mandatory practices begin August 4th.  Eighth grade will practice from 6-8 pm and 7th grade will practice from 3-5 pm.  All players must have a physical and Emergency Medical Authorization completed to practice on August 4th.

OMS CROSS COUNTRY

The first practice for OMS Cross Country will be August 4th at 10:00 am.  Please meet in the park behind Schmid Hall.

VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS

  • Gr 7 - Aug 4-6 at OMS 10-11:30 am
  • Gr 8 - Aug 4-6 at OMS 6-7:30 pm
  • Players must have their physical completed before they can try out.

5th Grade Orientation

Fifth grade orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, August 13, 12:00 noon or 7:00 p.m. at the Middle School (including any students who are new to Orrville Middle School).  Parents are encouraged to attend with their children.

On behalf of all of us, we thank you for the opportunity to serve breakfast and lunch to your children. We need to inform you that there are some new price changes for next school year, 2014-2015.

NEWS FROM NURSE STEINER

All students entering 7th grade in 2014 must have the Tdap (tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis) booster vaccine prior to entry. A Tdap is given in order to prevent pertussis (whooping cough). When your child receives this immunization, please send a copy of the shot record to OMS. Until May 31st, it can also be faxed to OMS at 330-682-2743.

Retirees Honored at Board of Education Meeting

Employees retiring from the Orrville City Schools at the end of the school year were honored at the Board of Education meeting on May 15, 2014. The Board expressed their thanks to these individuals for their dedication and service to the school district.  Pictured are (L-R): Denny Hochstetler, Janet Nussbaum, Joyce Platek, Andrea Dodds, Grace Gehres, & Nancy Plumley.

Two-Hour Delay Policy for 2013-2014

The two-hour delay will be in effect for the 2013-2014 school year in the case of inclement weather.   Please read following for additional information. Two Hour Delay Policy
