Profile
The current Orrville High School was built in 1955. Construction on the new OHS is scheduled to begin the summer of 2011 and completed by the fall of 2013. Included in the project will be the renovation of the current auditorium and gymnasium.
The new building will feature new computer labs, modern science classrooms, and state-of-the-art technology throughout. A larger student dining area and new Media Center will allow students to maximize their opportunities.
In the fall of 2011, Orrville High School is launching an exciting academic initiative. Through a partnership with the University of Akron/Wayne College and with the support of the Heartland Education Community, OHS students are enrolling in the College Academy in order to earn college credits while still in high school. A unique feature of the College Academy is that these students will be attending these college classes in the OHS building taught by OHS teachers who are qualified as adjunct professors. College Academy students could graduate with as many as 50 college credits.
We currently have 510 students in grade 9-12, with 427 of those students in the building all day while 83 juniors and seniors attend the Wayne County Schools Career Center.
