GIRLS GO MED DAY - MAY 4TH:  Attention all Female high school students interested in the Health Care Profession!  The American Medical Women's Association is sponsoring Girls  Go Med Day on Saturday, May 4th from 9:00 AM TO 4:00 PM.   This will be held at the Northest Ohio Medical University at 4209 State Rt. 44, Rootstown, OH  44272  They will have several hands-on activities which include:  Mock Patient Interviews; Heart and blood pressure checks; Eye and Ear exams; Basics of Suturing, and interacting with the current medical students.  All participants will receive a Certificate of Completion, as well as a Girls Go Med Day t-shirt.  Lunch will be provided.  We have applications in the OHS Guidance Office or you can obtain an application by contacting Ramya Gutta at rgutta@neomed.edu or Azmina Mohanned at: amohammed@neomed.edu, or call: 513.601.6587.  DEADLINE to apply is:  APRIL 19th, 2019

2019 LOCKHEED MARTIN STEM SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:  Lockheed Martin is awarding 200 renewable scholarships of $10,000 each.  Awards are open to individuals studying eligible engineering or computer science majors, who demonstrate financial need and come from under-represented or underserved communities.  Seniors must have a 3.5 GPA or better; plan to major in STEM programs; demonstrate financial need; willing to consider a paid internship with Lockheed Martin following their freshman, sophomore or junior year of college.  Deadline to apply is:  March 12th, 2019  To Apply, go to:  https://lockheedmartin.com/scholarship.

OHIO OPERATING ENGINEERS APPRENTICESHIP & TRAINING PROGRAM:  Operating Engineers build roads, bridges, dams and assist in contruction of large buildings and other structures by: 1) Operating Equipment used in construction such as bulldozers, motor graders, backhoes, prayers and cranes and, 2) Repairng the Earth Moving Equipment used in the building of roads, bridges, dams and large buildings. OTTERBEIN UNIVERSITY, Westerville, OH:  NEW!  Aquarium Track, a specialized path for Zoo and Conservation Science students interested in Aquarium Science.  This curriculum will give students the opportunity to earn either a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on aquariums and marine and freshwater conservation.  This is the only program of its kind in the Midwest.  Otterbein is also offering a new Young Artist Scholarship for music majors.  Application deadline was December 15th, 2018, and Auditions were completed by February 19th, 2019 to be considered for the Young Artist Scholarship, a $30,000 competitive scholarship for up to five recipients per year.  Maybe something to apply for next year!  Visit otterbein.edu/music for more information.
